Legislation
The Danish Pension Agency’s main task within the area of legislation concerns citizens having permanently retired from the labour market.
One responsibility, among others, is the provision of benefits to persons who are no longer active in the labour market, i.e. voluntary early retirement pay (efterløn), early pension (førtidspension) and old age pension (folkepension).
Besides, we are responsible for certain benefits without any direct relation to active employment, e.g. maternity and parental benefit (barselsdagpenge), parental leave (børnepasningsorlov) and the Holiday Act (ferieloven), and benefits without direct relation to individual affiliations to the labour market, e.g. housing benefit (boligstøtte), child allowances (børnetilskud) and child support (børnebidrag).
Finally, we take part in negotiations for the elaboration and implementation of Agreements on social security which Denmark concludes with other countries.
